August 30th, 2021- Auditions for International Gold Classes- IN PERSON!

Hello BYU Ballroom Dance Company, As we start to think about the end of the semester and the BYU BDC for next fall, we want to invite you to the upcoming advancement audition. Here is the information as we prepare. 1 - Fill out a BDC Audition Application - due March 24th. 2 - Each member of the Company will audition with a member from their own ensemble which will take place in room 270, on the following dates: Ensemble 2 and 3 - Wednesday, March 31st- during individual team time. Ensemble 1 - Friday, April 2nd-during individual team time. 3 - Choose one dance from each style listed below (based on your current technique course). Ballroom - Foxtrot or Waltz Latin - Cha Cha or Samba 4 - Additionally, we are excited to see each of the Ensembles present all of their show numbers on Monday, April 12th. These will be done in room 270 during individual team times. We look forward to seeing your individual and team progress. Congratulations to the following individuals who have been invited to join our 480 class this semester.

Individual championships will be held in Florida September 9-11, 2021. Youth, Junior and Pre-Teen Formation Championships will be held in Utah in March 2021. Adult National Formation Championships will be held in Costa Mesa, California in September of 2021 as part of the Embassy Ballroom Championships.

If you are a silver level student auditioning for Gold I Latin and/or Ballroom, you will audition with your silver class routine. Please be prepared to dance the silver samba routine for the Gold I Latin audition and/or the silver waltz routine for the Gold I Ballroom audition. Good luck!

January 11, 2021: AUDITIONS (in person, men and women same day, register here) NEW for Winter Semester 2021: We will create a solo samba combination and a solo waltz combination for you to learn ahead of time and dance solo the day of auditions. A video of these combinations will be posted on November 16th for you to learn and review.
