Class Event Registration-BYUDC

Current members of the BYU Ballroom Dance Company (including ensemble teams) and anyone competing in any open event, may not enter the DANCE 180 competition even if they are currently attending that class.

RULES SPECIFIC TO BYU CLASS EVENTS

  • All competitors must have an admission ticket for each day they are competing.  One ticket is good for all day. 
  • These events are open to BYU students only.  The syllabi allowed for these events will be taught in each course.
  • Students must be currently enrolled in the class to compete in the class event competition. They may also enter the class competition directly above a course that they are enrolled in.  Those students who “dance up” must dance their own class routines for the higher level competition.  Students who are attending two class levels of the same style may only enter the competition for the higher level class.
COMPETITION ATTIRE FOR BYU CLASS EVENTS

Women: Nice dress or skirt and top that conforms to BYU standards (no sheer shoulders or sheer skirts. Also, no sequins, rhinestones, feathers, glitter, fringe or similar decorations.

Length must be below the knee cap and slits not to exceed 3" above knee. Must wear regular cut dance trunks. Dressy pants and blouse will also be allowed. No leggings etc...

Men: Dress shirt, tie, slacks (optional: bow tie and/or vest, sweater, suspenders or cummerbund). Plain black Latin pants and tails pants may be worn for all Gold class events.
